Our Essential Tips for Throwing a Christmas Hot Tub Party

Christmas

For many of us, Christmas is a time of year where we can get away from work for a few days, put our feet up and enjoy some festive television, but it is also a time to spend with family and friends. At All Weather Leisure, as much as we like to keep warm in front of the fireplace, we believe there’s no better way to celebrate the festive season than by throwing a Christmas themed hot tub party.

It may be cold outside, but a hot tub is a fun solution to the low temperatures, so why not take the party outside?

Here are some quick tips to help you bring in the Christmas cheer:

Put out some decorations

If you have a gazebo or garden building covering your hot tub, be sure to decorate your spa area with some extra tinsel and fairy lights! Not only do a few Christmas decorations help to make you feel more festive, but a few lights help to make your hot tub seem even more inviting and helps to create great ambience.

Bring out the festive hats

Whilst you wouldn’t normally wear a hat when getting into the water, remember, the chances are that it will be quite cold outside. Most of the body’s heat is lost through your head, so when the majority of your body is immersed in warm water, wearing a hat helps to keep your head warm too and prevents you from catching a chill.

Since it’s Christmas, why not hand out a selection of warm, festive novelty hats, such as Santa hats and Santa’s little helper hats, complete with bells! Not only will they keep you and your guests warm, but you will all have plenty to laugh at and be cheerful. You could even hold a festive hat competition and give out a prize for the most extravagant hat.

Turn on the patio heaters

It’s warm inside and warm in the hot tub, but this means that people are likely to feel the cold even more travelling between your house and the tub. Patio heaters provide the idea solution for warming up the pathway to your hot tub.

Put on the Christmas tunes

Many hot tubs are complete with sound systems, so you can control your Christmas playlist right from the water. If your tub doesn’t have a sound system, you can just as easily set up some Bluetooth speakers nearby and play your favourite festive classics.

Make sure you have plenty of extra towels

Be sure to have plenty of extra towels on hand. When the weather is cold, guests will not want to reuse a damp, cold towel. Why not keep a pile of towels in a warm place inside so that they can be handed out to guests whenever they need them?

Serve Christmassy drinks

Whilst it’s smart to keep your alcohol consumption low whilst relaxing in a hot tub, you could serve some mulled wine or cider. To ensure that all of your guests stay hydrated, you could have some cinnamon or orange infused water on hand, or you could serve mulled apple juice.
